The Extracellular Space
In this project we seek to determine the scale and scope of the transcriptional complexity of ligands and receptors in the mammalian genome, and their effect on the proteome in normal and developmental models. The knowledge gained in this study will be of great benefit to the field, possibly allowing the identification of therapeutic or diagnostic targets. Specifically, this project aims to:
- Identify and classify alternate transcripts for every ligand and receptor in the human and mouse genomes
- Perform genomic screening for candidates involved in mammalian development/ differentiation models.
- Functionally characterise candidates in mammalian development/differentiation models.
- Publicly disseminate the data collected in this study.
